Lee is arguing the woman didn't engage in "protected activity" under the Congressional Accountability Act, and that there's no direct allegation in the complaint that Lee or her office knew about the alleged rape or what exactly the woman planned to do
And here's the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's motion to dismiss the woman's claims against the org. They argue there's "no viable legal theory" to hold the CBCF liable for Lee's decision to fire the woman assets.documentcloud.org/documents/5771…
CBCF: "The reason to bring CBCF into this case is obvious: it is a relatively small story that one member of Congress is in a dispute with a terminated employee; but include the words “Congressional Black Caucus” in the case caption, and media attention grows exponentially."
