Wow. A former high-level DIA officer with a Top Secret security clearance just pled guilty to attempted espionage for Chinese intelligence. The official charge: attempting to gather or deliver national defense information to aid a foreign government justice.gov/opa/pr/former-…
Ron Hansen, 58, "received hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation for information he provided them, including information he gathered at various industry conferences". He pled guilty and will serve 15 years.
Hansen went to another DIA guy (who by this time already blew the whistle and was a confidential informant), got classified military documents about our military preparedness, and planned another trip to China to share with their intel services. Before he went he was arrested.
Apparently this was a story in 2018 - I missed it. Insane details. This man is lucky to be getting 15 years.

An IT expert at a fortune 500 just hit me up: "ANY communications outside of the designated network they are supposed to be transmitted from, are in danger of being intercepted. All it takes is Kushner connecting to a public wifi with his device at a coffee shop.. and it's over."

Ron Rockwell Hansen, 59, of Syracuse, Utah, entered his guilty plea before U.S. District Court Judge Dee Benson in Salt Lake City. The plea agreement includes a stipulated sentence of 180 months, subject to approval of the Court. Sentencing is set for Sept. 24, 2019, at 2 p.m.

Today, a federal jury convicted Kevin Patrick Mallory, 61, a former Central Intelligence Agency case officer of Leesburg, Virginia, on espionage charges related to his transmission of classified documents to an agent of the People’s Republic of China.
