Since people keep sending me these tweets, I'm going to add one comment (aside from the fact that none of us knows what goes on in someone else's marriage). /1
I am not sure how this grift works, since whichever one of them would have to admit to lying is never going to have a moment of public credibility again. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying I don't see the angle and all other explanations are too complicated. /2
If Kellyanne is the one who says later: "George really represented what I was thinking," then she's saying everything she's done for years in the White House is a lie. That's not a strategy that makes sense to me for a future book tour, but okay, I guess it could happen. /3
If George says: "I was just running a scam on the anti-Trump people," I'm not sure how that helps a lawyer whose most precious commodity is his credibility and integrity. Could that happen? I guess, but I don't see how it works. /4
I know that another theory out there is that George is running interference for Fed Society judge picks. But since McConnell is doing this by brute political force, that's a solution in search of a problem, and also makes no sense. /5
I can understand how two people in a marriage can grow apart. (Especially if one of them decides in mid-life to join what is effectively a cult.) Maybe that's it. But I have no idea what happens in their home, and it's not my business.
