If there is one beautiful thing that I have been learning for more than a year now, it is etiquette. I have been able to learn within some months that etiquette cuts across every facet of life and lack of etiquette can cost a lot of 'havoc' in one's life.
So I have decided to make it a point of duty to share some etiquette with my twitter friends as time goes on. Today, I will be sharing some social media etiquette with you.
The first is you must know you are whatever you post on social media. Which simply means that your post reflects who you are, so be careful of what you post on social media. Think and have a rethink before you post. Don't just post for the sake of it.
Another etiquette is never post what you would not want your family members, boss, future companies and so on to see. Always remember that your post goes a long way which means social media is like a virus that spreads. #etiquette
Third is never turn yourself to a bully to the new social media users. Mind how you talk to others. In case, a new social media user makes a mistake, you can make your corrections politely or better still, send your reaction to the person's inbox. #etiquette
Mind the use of emoticons. Don't use emoticons for the sake of it. Never use the emoticons that you don't know what they mean. Too much use of emoji can make your conversations look too informal especially if you are posting for formal reasons. #etiquette
Also, avoid writing all your posts in block letters. When you do, it only signifies that you are shouting. Don't forget that people hate it when you shout at them. So try to use block letters only when it is necessary. #etiquette
For more on social media etiquette, you can join me on my program, 'education zone'. It comes up every Wednesday on adaba 88.9fm. In case you are far away, you can download adaba fm app on Google playstore to listen. #etiquette
'Education zone' comes up between half past five and six in the evening. Don't forget that it is every Wednesday. Education zone is a program poised to make you better.
