San Juan County Commissioner Bruce Adams just introduced resolutions in support of the Kayenta Coal Mine on Black Mesa and in support of the Navajo Generating Station in Ariz., which is scheduled to be decommissioned. Adams cites employment opportunities for SJC residents.

A second resolution from Maryboy would request the State Auditor to review the county's legal contracts and invoices accrued under the previous county commission.
Maryboy's third resolution would withdraw the county from its attempt intervene on behalf of the Trump administration in the lawsuit over cuts to #BearsEars National Monument. It would end payments to the Mountain States Legal Foundation, which has been representing the county.
His fourth resolution would reverse the previous San Juan County Commission's support of a Utah petition to weaken roadless rules on National Forest Service land.
And Commissioner Maryboy's fifth resolution would voice the county's support for @SenatorTomUdall and @RepDebHaaland's Antiquities Act bill, S. 367: congress.gov/bill/116th-con…
Above resolutions will not be voted on until the next county commission meeting on April 14.
Several citizen comments question the pro bono legal advice commissioners Maryboy and Grayeyes have been receiving from an outside attorney. "If our legal counsel [SJC Attorney Kendall Laws] is not truly representing us, then who do we turn to?" Grayeyes said.
