So, apart from the obvious poor quality of work done, why & how exactly did the Potholes occur?

The Wikipedia post basically outlines the issues as a failure in the fabric of the road due to moisture beneath the road surface & fatigue from vehicle load.

The article points more at snow as being the moisture enabling culprit but we obviously don't have snow in these parts.
'Snow' may therefore be substituted for another firm of precipitation - rain (and subsequently water).

Diogenes was born in Sinope around the year c.412 bc and was one of the founders of ancient Cynic philosophy. He was called a dog because of his lifestyle.

After being banished from Sinope, for the debasement of currency, he moved to Athens without any material possessions.
The motive behind the debasement of currency in Sinope was political, rather than financial, due to tensions between Pro-Persian and Pro-Greek factions.

Once Diogenes moved to Athens, he began his new life in poverty. He literally lived inside a giant clay jar & begged for food

Well, it says that each member state must recognise mineral waters recognised as a mineral water by any other another member states, subject to a few common standards listed in the annex.

That's mutual recognition!

Capitalism in pure form is about allocation of surplus, and its model kinda works when economy is tied to *labor scarcity*, and usufruct ties equitably to yields coming from labor and investment.

[See Veblen Engineers&Price System] In early days of industrial labor and capitalism, this happened at a rate such that older generations of workers could re-skill or work a lifetime w/o re-skilling.
@benjohnbarnes @worrydream @tristanharris @edelwax Last 40 yrs of globalization of labor and credit/finance mkts, PLUS massive labor devaluation through computer tech, means that while legacy capital system gave many in tech industry great profit sharing, a huge amount of economic labor base was pushed out of the market.
