I have a view that some of the things this guy says/has said over the years, are not compatible with working for a Gov’t that has enough fights of its own making at the moment without having another one. That is my view. Yes it looks like the comments about Chinese people...(1/)
were taken out of context by the journalist, but speaking of ‘invading Muslim tribes’ (as opposed to desperate people fleeing conflict) is not something I agree with, and together with comments such as these over the years, mean that he and I differ I’m afraid. 
And it is ok to differ. Should he be stripped of knighthoods etc?No. That’s ridiculous. But these comments (and previous ones) in my view - and I am allowed one - are not acceptable in public life, to which he accepted a role. I respect other views, but stand by mine.
