That’s one blade (for a 3-blade windturbine) almost as long as our local benchmark, the Utrecht Dom Tower (112 meters)!
Dom tower and wind turbine blade, side by side, to get an idea. I’m sure someone can do a really cool Photoshop ;)
This blade will probably be part of the first 12 MW @generalelectric Haliade wind turbine ever, to be installed at Maasvlakte, @PortOfRotterdam !

And the most impressive part is that this 107-meter blade is not a static structure: It will move through the air at tip speeds of up to 320 km/h, adapting its shape to the wind, on and (sometimes) off, for at least 20 years!
At full power, every single rotation of this 12 MW wind turbine’s rotor produces 25 kWh; that’s 3 days of electricity consumption of the average Dutch household!
One hour of operation at full power produces the electricity that 4 households consume in a year.
At full power, a single rotation of its 3-blade rotor produces the power to drive an electric car for 150 km (90+ miles).
With a bit of imagination, you can see it as a giant catapult, launching an EV every time a blade reaches its lowest position, and shooting it 50 km away :)
With its 220 meter rotor diameter, it sweeps the wind out of 3.8 hectares of air. That's five Champions League size football (soccer) fields!
Perhaps the best thing about GE's new 12 MW wind turbine (coming to Rotterdam this year!) is its capacity factor of 63%. It's designed to produce 67 GWh, that's 67 million kWh per year, in a much flatter pattern than smaller wind turbines can do.
Just 1,790 of these 12 MW wind turbines could supply all the electricity The Netherlands needs. Of course we'll have a mix of renewables, and we'll need some dispatchable power too, but large offshore wind turbines will surely provide a big part of it, just 10-20 years from now.
That means we could supply all of the Netherlands’ electricity with fewer wind turbines than the country already has now: By end-2017, there were 1,981 onshore wind turbines in NL, with an average capacity of 1.64 MW.
