This is all over all the social medias.
It is nothing than a PR campaign by a Libertarian think tank to bash the poor and homeless.
Ed is criticising homeless for begging while he's *pretending* to be homeless to make a documentary he is being "paid* for.
There are many homeless who do not beg. Ed talks little of them, why not?
If Ed had any interest in the poor and homeless he could meet them in daycentres and foood banks where they go why didn't he?
Ed is confirming his own prejudices.
I have been homeless. It is very rare that street people will chat with other people, especially other homeless people, openly about themselves except for pan handlers, grifters, conmen & *taxmen* (protection racketeers preying on the homeless) who do so for some gain.
Ed wanted people's "stories" so, knowingly or unknowingly, set himself up as a *mark* for anyone spinning a line while alienating homeless who are wise enough not to share their life's stories.
If you were homeless and had failed your family would you talk of this to a community which harbours a minority grifters and conmen?
Ed may be sincere but he has definitely been chosen for this role. He is known for espousing single-minded self-reliance. Would anyone expect him to look any further than the evidence that supports his perspective? Chomsky has the truth of it.
