Okay so @FWesSchneider and @Archaeotagh and @littlediegitoV and @amandahamon and @TheWretchedPoet don't believe me that the Mosquito Witch is an actual known folkore being/cryptid in Wisconsin, so please help, midwesterners, bc I can't find any references. (1/x)
I only vaguely remember the story from when I was a kid but it was about a monster that looked like an old woman but would uncurl a mosquito proboscis from inside her lips and suck away children's tears.
And the kids would lose their ability to feel and waste away physically.
And they'd get like colder and meaner as they wasted.
