Sent an email to special counsel spokesman Peter Carr today and he responded.

"Graham said the following: 'As to obstruction of justice, Mr. Mueller left it to Mr. Barr to decide. After two years and all this time, he said Mr. Barr, you decide. Mr. Barr did.'

Is this accurate? Based upon my reading of the report, I cannot believe this is truthful"

Carr replied, "We’ll decline to comment beyond the report."

Lindsey Graham just lied. In his opening remarks at the Barr hearing he said that Robert Mueller told Barr that he should decide on obstruction. That is not true. There is no evidence of that in the record at all.

Graham also misled the public on obstruction of justice. It’s really stupid what he said. He said attempted obstruction of a crime that never happened can’t be a crime. I can’t tell you how misinformed that sentence is. Obstruction of justice is not about obstructing crimes

Instead, the obstruction of justice statutes prohibit corruptly obstructing proceedings. And, those statutes criminalize endeavoring to obstruct as well as attempting to obstruct proceedings.

Here’s another reason to think that the #MUELLER REPORT is going to be devastating for Trump. 1/10
So far no member of Trump’s family has been indicted, including Don Jr., even though Don Jr (according to all reliable reporting) lied his *** off behind closed doors in Congressional hearings. 2/10
And Don Jr. hasn’t been questioned by Team Mueller, which legal experts say is ominous for him, as it is a sign he is a target. 3/10

This article has provoked a lot of commentary today. Most of the commentary from the the left has been alarmist, though some (like @SethAbramson) have been dismissive. I don’t think either response is appropriate. 1/16

NEW: Trump campaign adviser Walid Phares has been interviewed by the special counsel multiple times over the past year, according to two sources familiar with the matter
Phares was questioned for several hours each time and asked about Michael Flynn, the March 2016 Trump Tower national security meeting, and other meetings with foreign officials that he set up for the Trump campaign.
Through a spokesperson, Phares declined to comment for our story.

Special Counsel spokesman Peter Carr declined to comment as well.
