Trump lost NV by smaller margins (2.4 points) than McCain (12.6) and Romney (6.7). His Senate candidate lost by a much smaller margin (0.9%) this year than the two machine GOPs who lost the last two #NVSen elections (2.4 and 5.0), yet we keep hearing about Trump & His Candidates.
The people who self righteously undercut Trump in name of #CountryOverParty, are explaining to you why Trump and "his" candidates have lost some elections (that many Establishment Republicans lost in the past and often by wider margins).
Many Quality Candidates that were going to win the general if only they won the primary, didn't um, how do I say this, win the primary against Bad Trump Candidates!

If they are so great, they would be the ones pulling in 40% - 60% of the GOP vote, clowns.

@HeathMayo I had mine.
My home district:
—Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR05). Endorsed by Elise Stefanik and supporting the “Big Lie”.
Outside of here:
—Mike Erickson (OR06)
—Joe Kent (WA03)
@HeathMayo I have no choice but vote to Jamie McLeod-Skinner over Chavez-DeRemer. And support Andrea Salinas over Erickson and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez over Kent. #CountryOverParty #PrinciplesFirst

The GOP machine in DC...

- Voted with Biden on multiple key issues which means they can't attack it.

- Shun the guy who was a GOP POTUS 20 months ago.

- Runs away from their 2017 tax policy; Dobbs decision; FBI overreach.

Who in the GOP/independent should vote GOP?

This is without getting into the fact that the @HouseGOP a few years back with 241 seats delivered less on basic GOP policy than @HouseDemocrats with 220 seats delivered on Radical Lefty policies.

cc @jackpandol @MarkBednar @SamLBullock @M_McAdams @MikeKBerg @tomemmer
Senate GOP

- gave Biden more judges than any POTUS since JFK! Schumer with less seats than the GOP now blocked Trump more!

- said "let Mueller finish his job" for 21 months AND had their own 4 year collusion investigation, yet shot down any talk of 2020!

= Trump voters 😴

I endorse this msg, although I'm not a liberal. I'm a moderate conservative standing with everyone who is pro-democracy and wants the USA to resume its long path toward freedom for ALL, despite the far right capture of the Republican party.

Proudly #XGOP and #CountryOverParty! Image
The past two years or so in US politics have shown me that it's the right wingers whose feelings are fragile, lol.

What a bunch of crybaby sore losers.

And they are extremely gullible, too.
I just heard today that the next CPAC will be held in Hungary, with authoritarian dictator Viktor Orban as keynote speaker.

They want to undermine NATO from the inside. Too bad, losers. The rest of NATO won't let that happen.

Thread: International Women's Day 2022, US, & Ukraine.

Far right fascists (aka today's GQP) like chiming in to say female privilege is alive and well in the law requiring (almost) all men aged 18-25 to be registered for the draft, should one be needed.
Current US admin policy is to do all it can to avoid needing to have boots on the ground in Europe and elsewhere.

Since 1/24/22 the global security situation has worsened. If things get to a certain point, the US may need to bring back the draft.
It's mistake to exclusively think of the wars the US has been involved in since 1945, especially Vietnam. I see far greater parallels between our current crisis and 1939-45.

In both cases, none of the allied countries were sufficiently ready to defend ourselves and win the war.

Her post is a good eg of the fact-free "logic" used in the far right fascist GQP. It's an educational tool. (MTG is just a tool.😉)

On the upside, her Twitter a/c had about 500k followers, and at Telegram it's 150k. Many are bots. But in any case, the vocal minority are TINY.
My advice to fellow pro-democracy fighters:

Always remember how tiny the group of literal anti-Americans is. An unknown number of 2020 R voters left within weeks of the election & they're not going back.

So do not let this place get you down, ever.
Both sides claim to be "the silent majority" all the time.

Right now the actual silent majority includes D voters, #XGOP folk like me, and everyone who didn't vote R last time. That's a huge number.

To win 2022 we* have to Get Out The Vote like never before.

Thread: Ethan Crumbley's parents

Everyone should read the details of what they did & said when there was a chance to prevent the mass murder.…
I also believe the school administrators erred in allowing him back to class that day.

Telling the parents to get him into counselling within 48 hours was a criminally inadequate response.

There are so many things they should have done instead.
And since day one I've asked myself why this high school didn't have metal detectors. I know that other schools do.

Public alarm at the number of school shootings this year is justified, but let's remember that many schools have effective prevention policies. Others should too!

Thread: Revisiting disinfographics from the past.

This one was tweeted on 7/1/2020.

@Blexit is a foundation set up by far right fascist enabler and booster @RealCandaceO.
Firstly, Candace Owens (deliberately) mis-identifies #BlackLivesMatter.

That is the name of a movement around the world that IMO can be summed as anti-racism. (And yes, it is about racism toward one group, for good reason.)

BLM is also the name of a political organization.
Owens, like other fascists, doesn't care whether readers understand the difference between talking about a specific organization & a mass movement.

They have latched onto the domestic terrorism history of some past BLM associates.

While claiming 1/6 was just a tourist visit.

As I wrote in Mid-August: Pelosi can find enough Republicans to vote for the infrastructure bill if alleged moderate Dems oppose it.

Now, 5 @HouseGOP’s announced support for it.

By helping pass it, these idiots-are-Republicans will help Dems towards the reconciliation bill.
💥 💥 💥 . As I wrote almost 3 months ago (first tweet of thread)🔺, Pelosi can find enough House Republicans to help pass infrastructure if some Dems oppose it.

Indeed this is how it ended: 6 House Dems opposed it but 13 idiots-are-Republicans supported it in a 228-206 passage.
The vote by 13 @HouseGOP’s for infrastructure follows support by 17 @SenateGOP’s a few months ago (the bill needed 60 Senate votes).

These idiots are such Republicans that they didn’t even force major GOP items in it such as border walls. They only limited some Lib asks.

Time for a quick thread about the meaning behind every little part of my current Twitter profile that communicates a value that is important to me.

In around April 2020 I changed my username from @GodlessNZ to @FreedomFriesInc.

This account was originally set up to participate in secularism discussions. From Feb 2016 it morphed into 95% US politics. A topic I love to follow.
#FreedomFries pops up in the news from time to time and is still largely misunderstood in the US.

In 2003 it was a joke "trend" or "meme" among those who supported the US-led coalition to topple Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

I supported it and still do.

Y'all blaming President Biden for the way Afghanistan is today but really you need to review what President Trump did there, like capitulating to Taliban demands to free Baladar in 2018, after 8yrs in custody.

An unmitigated fool. Blood on his hands.…
Trump has blood on his hands in so many different ways. Along with his henchmen, some of whom are more competent than him and need to be stopped before they succeed at picking up his mantle.

I agreed with many aspects of his foreign policy. But not on Afghanistan.
I literally chose my Twitter handle @FreedomFriesInc to reflect my belief in the #CollectiveSecurity doctrine of institutions like #NATO, #ASEAN, (& the late #ANZUS, killed by NZ in 1986.)

In 2003 France let us down. So we jokingly renamed french fries. It was an early "meme".

(1) When did you first realize Trump's habitual dishonesty was worse than his contemporaneous politicians?

For me it was on 4/5/18 when he paused for a microsecond before answering a question on Stormy Daniels.

(2) I hear ya, everyone is gonna try to say they wised up to him as early as possible, whether we did or not.

Gratuitous lying doesn't come naturally to me so I choose to mea culpa every time when it comes to #Cult45 and the past 5-6 years.

This lie was the first step for me.
(3) I've tried to become as skilled as I can be at reading body language. It can save you a lot of trouble in your life, because actions speak louder than words.

It's one of the most important life maxims to remember.

Actions speak louder than words.

(1) Folk are talking about the fact Pelosi is an 81 year old woman. IMO it's smarter to ignore those facts about her.

No elected official should try to joke to an audience about assaulting anyone with a large heavy object. Period.

Also, this is domestic terrorist talk.
(2) Always remember the definition of terrorism:

Violence or threats of violence that are intended to intimidate officials out of doing their duty.

Political violence comes in many shapes and sizes.
(3) It's also terrorism when it tries to suppress voters or other innocent people from exercising their democratic and civil rights.

McCarthy's latest reckless comments are just a symptom of the overall ideology & tactics with which Rs have allowed thugs to steal their party.

I'm so sick of complaining, but no solving. I don't care if you're conservative or socialist, democrat or republican, white supremacist or human rights activist, green or purple, I just want solutions that work. #Nolabels #ProblemSolvers #Civility #Pragmatism #RadicalCentrism
Let's begin by solving Climate Change with #ClimateSavingAccounts. #CSA's give preferential capital gains tax treatment to green energy companies, thus spurning investment in renewable sources. Soon, there will be so much investment that the Earth's climate will change back.
Everything can be a Savings Account. We've seen #CSA's and of course #HealthSavingsAccounts (via @RealisticDemoc1). We could create #HIPAASA, which would incentivize HIPAA compliance through preferential tax treatment for investing in compliant companies. Same for Infrastructure.

Thank you @SenBillCassidy (R-La).

He has said he’s inclined to support a #Jan6Commission.

Cassidy now agrees with Collins:

"I know it's going to take a little bit of evolution…we could address concerns and make it a lot easier for folks to support it.”…
2. Senator Cassidy on his historic vote to convict President Trump in Senate impeachment trial.

“Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty.”

#GOP senators who voted to #ConvictTrump are being censured by their party. I hope the censure comes in writing, so they can frame it & hang it up in their offices, display it during their re-election campaigns! #BadgeOfCourage! TY senators for the strength of your #convictions!
Those senators who #BrokeRank & voted #CountryOverParty will be respected by all even by #Liberals. At least we know they aren't #Nazi #Traitors so won't think #ItsTheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt if they get elected. They'll be the new face of the rational #GOP…
And in the #House, those #Congressmen #BrokeRank with the #MAGANaziParty will emerge as #PartyLeaders, having earned a measure of respect from all Americans, even those who are ideologically opposed. We all know we need an opposition party we just want a rational, principled one!

🔥Murkowski: “I want him to RESIGN. I want him out. He has caused enough damage.

“He hasn’t been focused on what is going on with #COVID. He’s either been golfing or he’s been inside the Oval Office fuming...

Here is what frustrates me... I respect @BenSasse but myself & other #Republicans who were #NeverTrump from the start have gone through years of being threatened, kicked out of the party, & mocked among other things for what we knew about Trump....

because we knew what Trump would do not just to the Party, but more importantly America.

We spoke up & out when few would. Because those people (yes @BenSasse included) wanted to win politically at all cost & refused to put #CountryOverParty & backed Trump.

Now with the impending implosion of Republicans in the #Election2020 there are those who are trying to act like they are ready to lead the party and even America in a post Trump presidency by just now speaking about against Trump... mostly in private, rarely in public.
