Yeah, that’s not what happened.
The problem with the anti-Semitism on the left is not that its adherents go and shoot up synagogues like anti-Semites on the right. The problem is that they help prepare the soil for them when they do, by helping to dehumanize and other-ize Jews.
When people on the right and the left try to say “the other side is worse than us,” they are not helping actual Jews not be discriminated against or not be shot in their synagogues. They are playing a political game in which Jews are pawns that have no say.
Anti-Semitism predates the American left-right divide, as it predates America. And it will survive it.
