Was asked by friend whether they should watch the AOC documentary, Knock Down the House

I am strong yes. (Regardless of your view on AOC)

For others on the fence on it, here are some reasons why and general takeaways I had from it
House candidates are by and large way worse than I thought

It's striking how amateur most of the campaigns covered operated. Even AOC opponent who was #4 in house was comically inept

Clear that despite being national office, lots of room for improvement
AOC’s race had one poll done during the race. Crazy that house races have so little polling on them--and feels like low hanging fruit

My guess is some private orgs have already started to do this, and not release the data. Similar to how hedge funds had better brexit polling
Justice Democrats, Brand New Congress, and similar groups are a thing to watch

Whatever your alignment or not with their positions. It's good example of how much leverage relatively small orgs can have in upleveling candidates/campaigns
AOC’s discussion of her flyer vs Crowleys I love love love

Also love part where her bf discusses her FB ad campaigns. Again, nothing that an average developer couldn’t do

But way above what most house candidates have. Maybe every candidate should date a developer or paid acquisition growth marketer😂
Most importantly, I love documentaries and oral histories that capture people before and throughout process

Gives a much better ground level view

We should fund way more of these documentaries of house campaigns. And more generally all sorts of events, companies, and processes
