Y’all, I am sitting here in shock and disgust. How am I supposed to work with people who are capable of this? How am I supposed to trust them on any level? How are their constituents supposed to trust them?
During campaigns, the GOP House Caucus pays 100s of thousands of dollars to vilify me and other candidates. They call us unhinged, liar, and socialist (used the same names in ads against sexual assault survivors.)
They make up lie after lie and run them over and over. Then they expect us to walk in and be cool with it. My 84 year old mom had to watch that stuff as she sat with my dying sister all day long. Some candidates kids have to see that all day long.
I’m no snowflake, I can handle it and so can my GOP mom, but what does this say about your party. You put out this garbage on fellow Tennesseans, yet won’t attend forums, won’t debate the issues, won’t allow in depth debate on the house floor-why not? What are you afraid of?
But now we have to deal with a speaker and other leadership that have NO respect for the rule of law. Listening in on a room where people have the expectation of privacy is a felony.
It’s weak, it’s dishonest, and it’s criminal behavior. It’s the reason people don’t want to get involved in politics and don’t want to vote.
This is not Democracy, it’s cowardice and lawlessness. Casada is not the only person in leadership who knew this-hard to believe there was any GOP member who didn’t know. Fix your house GOP, you bring shame to TN.
