Let's chat about building a R community within your office. I was the only R user in the office and I also wanted people I could go to for help and just thought partner to solve problems. So, here are some of my lessons learned from building a R culture in the office!

📌Lesson 1: Don't tell or lecture about the benefits of #rstats, instead show them a demonstration!

People generally are motivated when they see how easy it is to start something small and with a specific example!

my ex: being able to work with multiple dataframes concurrently.
📌Lesson 2: Not every training has to carefully planned!

Sometimes the spontaneous help you offer to a colleague is still training. This training was timely, concise and helped them cross the roadblock.

Ex: I wrote down a quick #STATA to #R translation on a post-it note.

First of all, the “real estate” deal and Cohen’s plea. It’s about so much more than building a tower. If it were strictly real estate, there’d be no need to lie - or abruptly end it the same day some seemingly unrelated news breaks.
And, even with the real estate piece, there was illegal sh*t going on. Like offering a penthouse (WTF, like he doesn’t have a palace) to Putin, and getting funding from a sanctioned bank.

R has been my client since 2009. He's Mexican, has been here since 1991, has a family, has worked for the same landscaping company for 19 years, helps his neighbors. He's the kind of guy, who asks the cashier at the store how her/his day is going and genuinely wants to know.
We lost his case four years ago, he has had a deportation order since. Every year, he has gone to check in with ICE and has asked to stay another year - and because he really has nothing bad and a lot of good things to show for himself, they have said yes.
When R called me last week about a notice to go to an "interview" with ICE today, he and I both knew we had arrived at the end of the line. We'd heard the stories in the past months of how this scenario plays out: "Dad/Mom of four deported after 30 years in the United States."
