there's no way "professional installation" is supposed to be available on this raw piece of hardware. this is a symptom of CSV Disease, the condition in which all products on an Online Marketplace are defined entirely by incredibly coarse yes/no flags in a database
i hope nobody would ever do this, but i have the feeling i know what would happen if you selected the professional installation service. it would result in a very bad day for a contractor who only has bad days
the contractor is undoubtedly a company that does server installations. i clicked on "details" and it's obvious thats' what it is - racking servers and screwing them in and shit
the product in the listing is a raw piece of material you use to build something from scratch. it is absolutely not what the contractor service considers their business.
the two-ish ways this plays out:
- amazon sends order to contractor, they respond "can't do it," amazon refunds your money and sends you an email saying they can't do it but ships you the product anyway
- escalation at the contractor and they Figure It Out
I say -ish because here's how #2 actually plays out:
- amazon sends order to contractor, they absolutely know they can't do it, but if they refuse a single job they might lose Amazon permanently and after three months it became 90%, and then 100% of their revenue
going out and doing a piss poor job is probably the better option because a customer complaint is unlikely to percolate far enough to harm them, whereas rejecting the job will
SOURCE: i work for a company that gets in these situations constantly lol
