Still insane to me that like half a year ago the nation was gripped by the crucial national issue of which teenager got too handsy with a girl in Chevy Chase in the early 1980s, to the point they (ostensibly) wanted ‘the FBI’ to ‘investigate’ it. And now? Completely forgotten!
We never even figured out what house this ‘party’ was at - and I guess we’re ever gonna. The girl’s boyfriend had a house near the country club she said the party was after, it fits all the particulars, there’s no other candidate - but somehow it’s not important to confirm.
There was a guy who tweeted a ‘doppleganger theory’ partially premised on the idea that this was a plausible location. He was roundly criticized for being so ‘dumb’ to open himself up to libel like this.

Has he been sued? Guess not!
What about the girl’s high school friend who didn’t back her up, then a FBI friend called her and tried to prompt her to remember, is that FBI lady (who just happens to be associated with the accuser lady) gonna get in trouble for tampering? Guess not!
This is what national politics is like when it’s run as a series of psy-ops by cynical, craven lawyers & federal agents. It looks insane. Narratives emerge, then disappear. Things are ‘important’, then they’re not.

Like a bad TV show you’re forced to watch, that gets cancelled.
Other crazy aspect of this psy-op was how many Boomers were willing to be drafted into it.

50+ yo ladies ‘coming forward’ to say Brett K was rude to them at a drinking party, & they’re willing to tell ‘the FBI’ about it

50+ yo guys willing to badmouth his drinking days
Imagine being 3 decades out of college, a successful established life, yet thinking you have something important to say to national media about someone you knew in the dorms and haven’t known since

Imagine the ego required for this

an ego tons of Boomers have.
Think of the degree of betrayal this represents. Someone you knew only in your teens or 20s:

“I think I’ll go ahead & try to derail his career now, by adding my voice to a smear campaign”, decided like dozens of ‘successful’ ‘adult’ people, with very little prompting
And what *was* the prompting? Seemingly, just this: Brett K belonged to the wrong political tribe.

The best way to understand the reaction to him was that his fellow Elites treated this as a *class betrayal*. That’s why the gloves came off, why betrayal was justified.
3rd crazy thing about this psy-op was how it created a perverse parody of Rule of law. Oh, it had the *trappings* of something law-like. There were lawyers swimming around, people calling for ‘investigations’, important ‘testimony’ in fancy rooms.

But none of it was.. *the law*.
The whole episode exposes the ‘Rule of law’ protectors who want Trump impeached for something like ‘obstruction of justice’ as the cynical hypocrites they are.

It’s not ‘Rule of law’ they care about, it’s tribe.
You wanna convince me you care about ‘Rule of law’, show some interest in whether Blasey (not to mention Swetnick) will be prosecuted for perjury.

How about Blasey’s lawyers. Her FBI friend.

Course, no one actually cares. ‘Rule of law’? No such thing. It’s all politics
If these psy-ops aren’t punished they’ll just keep happening.

Trump-Russia Theory was, of course, another psy-op.

These lawyer-germinated quasi-law-enforcement PR campaigns are our future - the ‘moneyball’ strategy of politics - unless we punish and make them unaffordable.
