Citizen K on

#EuropeanElectionResults :

- Mainstream politics will continue to lose ground unless they will renew & restructure themselves by organisational architecture, people, messages, technology.

- Leaning toward extremists in messaging will only benefit the extremists.
Citizen K comments on #EuropeanElectionResults :

- 51% turnout may look promising but deserves a deeper analysis.

- Whose votes increased most? Therefore who mobilized her voters more..

Based on these results, it is hard to say the champion of this is the mainstream politics..
Citizen K on #EuropeanElectionResults :

- Countries who joined the EU after 2004 are the countries with least participation Slovakia, Czechia, Croatia, Bulgaria..

- Alarming for the success rate of European integration, power of European dream.

I’m heading to bed. At this stage, #EuropeanElectionResults suggest that Britain is nigh ungovernable. Voters are trapped in Remain/Leave silos. Neither side has anything like a clear majority. If these results were reflected in a general election, it'd be a hung parliament.
The Brexit Party is doing very well, Lib Dems and Greens are doing well and the two established parties are doing terribly. Putting this result into a First Past The Post election would not produce a strong or stable government.
The Tories will be under pressure to elect a no-deal leader and deliver a no-deal Brexit, but there’s no parliamentary majority for it.

Labour will be under pressure to move fully behind a 2nd referendum, but it’ll harm them in marginal seats. No cost-free solutions for anyone.

WE DID IT!!! We stopped "Tommy Robinson" from becoming an MEP! 🎉
THANK YOU to everyone who voted and took a stand against Robinson's hateful and divisive rhetoric. #EuropeanElectionResults a photo of tommy robinson with his face scribbled out. underneath text says
When we began this campaign, we based it on the knowledge that it was completely possible to stop 'Robinson' from becoming an MEP, but we needed to get people out to vote.

We delivered 360,000 leaflets to households in the North West who we knew were anti-hate.
We also invested heavily in digital advertising, which saw 2.4m people seeing our targeted digital advertising over the course of the election.

All of this was possible because of more than 1000 donations made by HOPE not hate supporters to our campaign to stop Tommy.

We’re witnessing a nightmare future for the Labour Party. Its metropolitan Hampstead voters have fled to the Liberal Democrats; the provincial Humberside heartlands to the Brexit party. The fence Jeremy Corbyn has been sitting on has been taken away. #EuropeanElectionResults
One grandee gets in touch about the Lib Dems beating Labour in Islington, Jeremy Corbyn’s home patch:

"Corbyn himself is apparently shaken by the Islington result. He thinks he’s been let down by the leaders’ office. But others are saying Corbyn is killing Corbynism."
Senior Labour figure cont:

"Every Labour MP I have spoken to in every part of country has said that [Jeremy] Corbyn bigger issue on doorstep than Brexit."

Here we, here we, here we fucking go #EuropeanElectionResults
Whatever happens in next few hours, remember most important thing: these elections were never meant to happen. Like extension, PM swore they would not. But they have. We’ve participated in the democratic operation of EU and normalised idea of remaining. Nothing will change that.
Just think: when was the last time anyone in Britain really cared about European elections? Tonight there’ll likely be big turnout & we’ll be watching whole EU. For perhaps the first time in decades, we are genuinely engaged in the life of our continent. And that’s brilliant.

"If you're interested, & I'll fund it somehow, I think you're the perfect guy, what we'd like to do is help knit together a populist nationalist movement throughout the world."

Bannon talking to @Nigel_Farage re alliance with Orban, Sisi, Modi & Duterte.
“Paradoxically, this generation of populist nationalists leads the way on international political cooperation.”

@Elif_Safak adds more to #Bannon’s list: Erdoğan in Turkey, Abascal in Spain, Salvini in Italy & far right parties in Poland, France & Austria. google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theg…
This was filmed in 2017 & is taken from the new documentary about Bannon, @TheBrinkFilm.

There's a moment in this clip when Farage looks towards the camera, clearly thinking: "I'm being filmed conspiring with a far-right extremist. If this ever gets out it won't look good."
