The claim by President Cyril Ramaphosa that he has cut down from 36 Ministries is false. Zuma had 35 Ministers. What Ranaphosa did was to split the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries two way.

The manner it has been done gives the false impression that Agriculture (now at the DRDLR) and Forestry and Fisheries (now at Environmental Affairs) were two independent departments. They were not. They were under one Minister.

So in essence a downsizing of 7 and not 8 Ministries. #CabinetAnnouncement #Cabinet2019

The Deputy Ministers where we hoped the FAT would be cut the most was very disappointing.

From 37 to 34 Deputy Ministers. Looking at the faces there, you can realise that's where the factions battled it out the most. A bloated compromise.

Cyril Ramaphosa in his 2018 SONA spoke about a reconfigured Cabinet. In his 2019 SONA he spoke of a reconfigured state.

The former seems to have been done, somewhat. Now I await the latter to be given meaning& expression.

There are questionable appointments there, like Cassel Mathale being Deputy Minister of Police when he needs to be investigated for his tenure as Limpopo Premier that collapsed that government. David Mahlobo making a return to he Deputy Minister.
