NEW: In the SDNY #2020Census case, plaintiffs claim that new evidence shows that longtime GOP redistricting specialist Thomas Hofeller wanted to add the citizenship question to create a structural electoral advantage for “Repubicans and Non-Hispanic Whites.” @CourthouseNews 
Here’s the fuller quote from Hofeller: A citizenship question “would be advantageous to Republicans and Non-Hispanic Whites” and “would clearly be a disadvantage for the Democrats.”

Another interesting detail here: The New York plaintiffs say that conservative outlet Washington @FreeBeacon commissioned Hofeller's citizenship question study in 2015.
