I’m going to push back on this. It’s not that ethnicity is “secondary” in #AlwaysBeMyMaybe. That’s like saying oxygen is secondary to human life. When you‘re immersed in something—when you breathe it and are sustained by it—you don’t need to forefront it.

The characters in #AlwaysBeMyMaybe are Asian American through and through. They are culturally suffused by it. They eat it, they cook it, they sing it, they love it. It’s so normal it’s invisible. You forget you’re watching Asian American characters in an Asian American world.
And that is the same alchemy every Asian American who grew up watching FRIENDS experienced. An all-white New York? Not weird! Totally normal!

That’s the subtle way centricity reinforces supremacy. And why works like #AlwaysBeMyMaybe that are normatively inclusive are so vital.

The new Q poll of Texas shows Biden beating Trump 48-44 there, but I think the real headline is @ewarren in a statistical tie with him in the state and doing better there against him than all non-Biden Dem candidates. Even Beto. Her Oklahoma authenticity is a real secret weapon.
While I’m not 100% locked, @ewarren seems our best bet for a woman POTUS and is the most thoughtful progressive policy advocate running. She comes off as smart and fearless in her beliefs and will be devastating in debates. Pick a strong POC VP (ideally WOC), I’m all the way in.
Also fuck yeah Beto should get out of the race and challenge Cornyn

Thread/Rant: Follow-up on the Mueller Report

1. I’ve been watching the Democrat and legacy media reaction to AG Barr’s 2-page letter summarizing the Mueller report and have concluded that these people are bat-sh!t crazy!
2. Eric Holder claimed on MSNBC that Barr was "wrong" on his obstruction conclusions. Former prosecutor Gene Rossi (a Holder acolyte) said that Barr's letter was “tainted,” and that Barr should have recused himself. How can there be obstruction when there was no crime committed?
3. Chuck Todd and a lefty panel did their damnedest to goad a couple of elected Democrats to continue their investigations in order to “get Trump.” They didn’t actually say those words, but their intent was patently obvious. No embarrassment for two years of lies, just hubris.

I'm very lucky in that I've only been in one abusive relationship, and WOW does this piece remind me of his "apologies."
Screaming at me for hours? He's sorry he had to do that but I should have called him back sooner.

With the upcoming Neil-Gaiman-orchestrated "Dreaming" line at DC comics, I thought it might be time to revisit Neil Gaiman's wonderful "Sandman."

It's funny, I was just thinking today about the late sixties paranoia about cultural psychosis and insanity.

Modern pop culture is similarly fixated on the idea of insanity rippling through the popular unconscious.

"Legion", "Westworld", etc.

It's almost surprising that it took as long as it did for Gaiman to write for "Doctor Who."

Gaiman's abstract/symbolic cosmos is very much in keeping with Russell T. Davies' approach to concepts like "the Time War."
