On the anniversary of D-Day, please read this speech made by Charles Lindbergh in 1941. Lindbergh was part of the original "America First" movement. If his argument had won, the US would not have entered the war, D-Day would not have happened at all

"An English victory, if it were possible at all, would necessitate years of war and an invasion of the Continent of Europe. I believe this would create prostration, famine and disease in Europe—and probably in America—such as the whole world has never experienced before...."

In case I have been oversubtle: Donald Trump is also proudly "America First." It is not wise for the British, or any other Europeans, to ignore the lineage of this expression.
Also, to those who misunderstood: nobody said anything about Hitler. This is about "America First" isolationism. If we had had a president like Trump there would have been no D-Day.
