5️⃣ Mental illness is hard on people around you, shame can isolate them too.

They're left with burden of needing to help, but not really knowing how.

Don't know where to start in saying 🙏 and sorry.

6️⃣ And one final thought: life can be a real fucker sometimes - and whilst we are so much stronger than we know, we are also all quite vulnerable.

Anyway, despite all this, when I'm feeling good, I can see a better life ahead. ☀️☀️☀️

For now, I'm just resting up - which, wierdly, is actually harder than going to work 😂 - but I'm gonna try to crack on. 💪🌄😴 I really want to go surfing! 🌊

So, going forward, what can I/we do differently? 🤔 Here are my sources of inspiration and hope. 👇

My go-to for all wisdom and solace on the crisis of community and isolation in the 21st century is the amazing @kristatippett and @onbeing.

In particular, the episodes w/ @BreneBrown, Martin Sheen, Mary Oliver, Parker Palmer, Lucas Johnson and Rama Nashashibi, & John O'Donohue.

On climate change, the best folks out there writing on the emotional fall-out are @DrKateMarvel, @annajanejoyner (and the amazing @nplhpodcast), and Zadie Smith (Eulogy for our Countries Seasons). I know there's so much more.

Ps. @RobGMacfarlane @IAMKP's new music on this is ♥️.

As per previous tweet, @ladyhaja's article (see her profile) is basically the best thing I've ever read on mental illness. Reaaad it.

I then find @matthaig1 and @poornabell so inspiring for their work on mental illness and recovery

I'd love to connect more with this community.
