Completely bogus argument. “Minorities” are getting religion-based scholarships in the thousands of Crores.

Using some 70 Cr scholarships which were NOT religion-based to justify #ReligiousApartheid policies of the govt.

Don’t fudge.
Caste is considered immutable and birth-based.. SC scholarships and schemes are due to a particular historical conditions.

Religion is changeable. Religion-based schemes are conversion inventives.

Apologists want to fudge schemes and not address religious discrimination by govt
I’m not saying that caste *is* immutable, in fact caste is a fabrication. But it is considered immutable in current theory. Religion isn’t even immutable in theory.

Simplest definition of BJP’s policies—“whatever Congress did, we do bigger and faster.”

Congress’ Muslim appeasement BJP does bigger with Muslim scholarships.

RTE is applied more vigorously and expanded. Same with MNREGA, Aadhar.

Indian languages are destroyed faster.

Are you kidding. Minority Affairs has been made much bigger under @narendramodi with Crores of new funding for Hindu excluding schemes. Bigger and faster.

What cow? Gau ralshaks are demonized because of “chhavi” and cow thieves enabled because of “secularism.”

A language is imposed when it is (1) not the mother tongue and (2) it is made the medium of education and (3) there’s no other option.

The only language that is imposed in India is English. It is forced in Higher Education, in IIT, IIM, AIIMS, High Courts... with no choice.
A language added is not an imposition. Additional languages on signs etc provide more inclusive access.

Unless Hindi is becoming the primary medium it is no threat. Languages are destroyed when the medium changes. English is destroying languages as it become primary *medium*.
Often those who scream #HindiImposition don’t care for their own languages.

They deface signs with Hindi as an additional access language but do no work for Higher Ed or Courts in their language.

They exploit sentiment for local language for their aim of English supremacy.

I refuse to remain silent as religion rips through humanity like a virulent plague. I know it’s awfully rude to question and criticize this very ancient institution, but so what?
Political correctness and the protection of truth and human rights rarely coincide, so I would rather be politically incorrect and compassionate than cowardly and apathetic.
I would rather empathize with the oppressed than pander to the oppressor. I’d prefer to freely express contempt for contemptible cultures and religions than sit safely and silently as women are treated as beasts of burden, as mere chattels to be bartered between barbaric men.

We wrote a paper proposing a new relaxation of differential privacy that has lots of nice properties: arxiv.org/abs/1905.02383 It's 85 pages long, so here is the TL;DR. Suppose S is a dataset with your data, and S' is the dataset with your data removed. 1/
Differential privacy can be viewed as promising that any hypothesis test aiming to distinguish whether I used S vs. S' in my computation that has false positive rate alpha must have a true positive rate of at most e^eps*alpha+delta. Cool - its easy to interpret this guarantee! 2/
This characterization is exact: its equivalent to the usual definition of DP. But DP is mis-parameterized in that when we compose mechanisms, there is no way to describe the resulting tradeoff between Type I and type II errors with any parameters eps,delta anymore. 3/

John Rentoul is impressed with the quality of Michael Gove's piece defending May's Brexit deal. He loves this: "Does it deliver 100% of what I wanted? No. But then we didn’t win 100% of the vote on 23 June 2016." This sounds plausible but is in fact a completely bogus argument.
You can only justifiably invoke your electoral mandate delivered at the ballot box if you campaigned honestly & unambiguously. If Leave had offered a clear, unitary, achievable prospectus then 52% would mean something.
But they didn't. Leave *deliberately* set out to reel in voters by playing to a wide range of different and mutually incompatible expectations. That's how they cobbled together 52%.
