It is a process.
There is always a story behind the story.
A few days ago, I tweeted about how @IAmSteveHarris went from 17k in his account to 17 million in a few months.
Steve Harris dropped out of college twice. He first dropped out of Uniben. Went back into college and dropped out again.
Today he has been recognised by the United Nations as an ambassador of peace.
There's always a story behind the story.
I want to tell you a very funny thing that happened to Steve years ago.
Steve was living with Fela Durotoye at this time.
While he was thinking, Steve noticed his countenance and asked him what the problem was
Fela told him
Then Steve made a proposal that shocked Fela, but marked the beginning of a new turn for him
Now get this, Steve was just living with F.D.
He wasn't even a trained consultant. But he asked Fela to send him.
Steve had always practiced his public speaking with the bathroom mirror, and he was willing to take this chance.
After giving it much thought, he decided to allow Steve go train the Diamond bank staff.
The D-Day came, and Steve got all dressed up to deliver. What happend that day was a major shocker.
Steve drove to the bank, parked the car
This person got out of the car and immediately recognised Steve.
He was Steve's friend back in Uniben.
They both greeted each other wildly
Friend: Steve, what are you doing here?
Steve: I just came to deliver a message. How about you?
Friend: I actually work here. Mehn Steve I heard about what happened to you in school. Take heart man. I work here though. God's been good.
They both finished the greeting and went their way.
Steve went in and got ready to deliver the training.
When it was time, They introduced Steve to the staff to be trained, as Steve walked up the stage, he immediately recognised
His friend's eye out up with surprise and shock.
Me? A banker being trained by a drop out? Life issa wash!
Steve ended the training that day with everyone screaming halleluyah.
Steve Started working with Fela.
That day opened Steve's eyes to a lot of things. It gave expression a deep hunger and life to a new vision.
I read it in his book: "From College Dropout To Corporate Sellout!"
I read this book in 2014(or so)
Steve had come to City FM Lagos for a shis and gave the book to their Producer, Ben Gudman, who was my neighbor.
I read that book in one day, get it.
"It's not what you don't have that limits you, it's what you have but don't know how to use"
And it is true.
There is always a story behind the story.
Stop complaining about what you don't have, start using what you have.
Start applying what you learn.
I'll interprete it as, it is not what you have that makes you successful. It is what you do with what you have.
Stop complaining about what you don't have.
Start using what you do have.
Start using your resources, no matter how little.
This will mark the beginning of your own story behind the story...
...That Will one day be told to the world.
Selah.
