Starting the last day at #NDCOslo with a talk about Azure DevOps from @DonovanBrown
"fix what hurts the most"
DevOps is not about shipping features quickly. It's about delivering continuous value
Traditionally, developers and operations are naturally opposed to each other
Don't write software for others that you wouldn't use yourself
Microsoft are now using Azure DevOps for their own builds
Enterprise customers are limited in how fast they will consume updates
Providing a cloud service allows you to ship more often than you could with an on-prem product
The engineer who writes the code should also write the tests
Telemetry gives you the information on how people are using your software and whether you are delivering value
Colocated teams are highly productive
Each team develops it's own culture and rules
Continue to learn and improve
Don't save up bugs for later, prioritise paying technical debt over new features
Know what to measure, and what not to
The engineer that writes the code is responsible for fixing the bugs
Teams should have autonomy within the framework of the larger business
