Debugging hardware errors is difficult. Always check whether a bug can be reproduced on more than one machine
Some bugs just aren't worth fixing
~10% of fixes will introduce unexpected side-effects
*Any* change has some risk of breaking things
Sometimes circumstances amplify the impact of a bug. Be careful around year-end etc
Always try to find the smallest, simplest way to reproduce
Although it's desirable to understand root causes and solutions, sometimes we have to accept that it isn't practical or possible to do so
