#AFCON2019 @NGSuperEagles money palaver: After yesterday’s players’ dispute, over an unpaid bonus, I spoke to head coach Gernot Rohr this morning. “It (yesterday) was a difficult day. Promises (to the players) HAVE to be kept,” the former @FCBayern & @Girondins defender said.

Rohr, who took over as the @NGSuperEagles head coach in August 2016, is being owed wages and a 2018 World Cup qualifying bonus. “I don’t speak about my own case. But it is still not resolved,” he said.
I also spoke to a key player in the @NGSuperEagles, off the record. This is what he had to say: “I’m trying to keep my head down, as I’m usually one to speak up for the interest of the team. But when it matters, I’m all by myself,” he said.
Should the @NGSuperEagles defeat Guinea 🇬🇳 in today’s #AFCON2019 Group B match, they will become the first team to qualify for the knockout rounds of the tournament. So, let’s see what they do at the Alexandria Stadium, from 14.30 GMT.
