Outlook just popped up an error message telling me it couldn't sync a message out to the server. It didn't tell me what message, why there was a problem, or if I should do anything to solve it or if it would solve itself.

This reminds me of an old, pre-GPS joke.
Tourists in Seattle are up in a helicopter getting one of those fancy copter tours. All of a sudden, a massive fog rolls in. Visibility drops to zero. The pilot isn't quite sure where they are.
The pilot finds that they are right near an office building. Hovering next to a busy-looking floor, the pilot writes out a sign "WHERE ARE WE?" and holds it up for the office workers to see.
The workers get very excited, and scramble to get a flipchart and a marker. After a minute, they hold up a sign saying, "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER". The pilot waves thanks, pulls away, and flies directly to his landing pad.
The passengers are amazed. "How did you know where to go?" The pilot replied "Where else would I get an answer that was technically correct but completely useless? That was MIcrosoft. From there it was easy."
