We either vote for a party or we vote for an MP.
If we vote for parties, then we should already have proportional representation as the constituency MP is irrelevant.
If we vote for MPs, then Chuka joining the Dems isn't much different to if Hoey joined UKIP. Doesn't change much.
Even if we vote for Parties...
I tried to think of an extreme analogy for this tweet, like the Republicans switching out George Bush for Trump immediately after Bush's election campaign victory... but switching out Theresa May for Boris Johnson is even MORE extreme!!

But No-Dealers are absolutely fine with that. It's the basis of their entire ideology!

People voting for something on the basis of certain expectations and then the ruling party pretending those expectations don't exist so they can do whatever they like.

If you chuck drinks at people and poke them in the face with flagpoles, the Brexit Party will welcome you into events, but if you wear something that questions their views and politely chat with people OUTSIDE the event, they'll have you removed from the premises.

I blurred the police officer's face for his own sake. I know I have the right to film a police officer performing his duties, but he was really nice and I didn't ask his permission. So in case he doesn't like being on the internet I felt I should err on the side of caution.
The event took place at the NEC, which is a private venue licensed for use by the Brexit Party, so if the Brexit Party asks management to have me removed from their property, the police office is duty-bound to remove me. He performed his duties with absolute professionalism.

The 2017 election was the only chance the UK's had to express what sort of UK-EU relationship they want Parliament to secure.

54% voted for parties that ruled out No-Deal and promised Single Market access.

So if you want No-Deal, fine, but stop pretending it's about democracy.
The 2017 General Election shows that losing access to the Single Market and Customs Union and/or leaving without a deal is AGAINST the will of the people.

Labour's manifesto said it " accepts the referendum result" but "will put the national interest first" & would PRIORITISE Single Market & Customs Union access.
So, leaving the EU was CONDITIONAL on economic status quo!

This is the most accurate headline about Trump's tweet.

It is absolutely a deportation threat. Clearly political, red meat to his base, on the eve of his 2020 re-election campaign. Like most threats, it's designed to create fear. And it's working.

He will probably have a tough time meeting it, for several reasons:

1 - ICE was blindsided by the tweet. Yet another example of dysfunction.

2 - ICE doesn't have the resources to deport millions. (Being a thorn in his side is one of my life's great satisfactions.)
3 - It's not even clear who he's targeting - those with final orders of deportation, those with final expedited orders, or just anyone without status.

Now that he's said it, I suppose ICE has to do what it can to make it a reality. Or at least an illusion of reality.

In the campaign, some people argue for PR, others say the House of Lords will be elected, some say it will be alternative vote. A few people at the fringe say it will be ‘fancy franchises’ where people with £100,000 in the bank or a degree get double votes.

The referendum says the UK should change the electoral system by 52% to 48%. The Govt says it’s solely a choice for the governing party and it uniquely knows the will of the people.

More and more of those on the right say we must enact the fancy franchises plan.

That will appeal to a lot of people!
It's possible to imagine that TIG might pick up most of the votes that would normally go to the Greens, Libdems, even UKIP, etc. for one GE anyway, because of the possibility of getting the grand prize of PR out of it. Remember, PR benefits every party bar the Tories and Labour.
You should also bear in mind that votes under PR might distribute themselves very differently than now, because there's no longer any need to "hold your nose" and vote for a party you're not fully in tune with, just because the one you agree with has no chance of winning.
