[Thread] This day 7 years ago, I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. I was only 26. It is a hard day for me but I decided to look back on the good and the bad from the last 7 years, to show how far I have come.. ( using pictures!)

This photo was taken 1 week after diagnosis. Shane, who was 4 at the time, was graduating playschool. Thats Evan beside him, only 2. 5 minutes before this photo, I was on the phone arranging my PET scan, Im upset here but I dont show it

This is taken just after my radical hysterectomy. I am absolutely wired. Unfortunately, I go downhill after this and start to bleed A LOT, emergency CT and blood transfusions follow. I was in hospital alot longer than I hoped

I start college, but my ovaries ( which we kept due to my age ) fail. I have them removed in 2 seperate operations. Hello menopause!! Just look at that bloat! ( Also, I hate trying to get the plaster residue off lol )

More procedures, more canulas... my face breaks out from being put to sleep, i always have a reaction! ( i like to be dramatic 😋 ) I havent a good vein left anymore btw lol

But i graduate! First with my BSc in Computing/It Management, and then I go for the honours 😁 How i pulled that off, I dont know! Im so proud of myself though

Through it all, I raised as much awareness as i could of #CervicalCancer and the #hpvvaccine and I set up @CCAI_ireland , my baby. It has helped so many in the 6 years it has been running

Hospitals are my second home ( shout out to St James and The Coombe for letting me visit so often 😂 ) Heres a lovely photo of me in the fab hospital gowns, scan time! ( Id love to know how many ive had ) ..Contrast is still nasty btw 🤢

But, I am here and I am grateful. I may be broken ( seriously, nothing works anymore lol ) and spend every day in pain, but I do it for these 2 below...
