Corbyn tweeted this picture just a few weeks ago.

See the annoyed looking turbaned-man next to him? That's my mum's brother. He's been doing seva/service at that Gurdwara for decades.

He looks annoyed because he hates Corbyn. Been a Tory voter as long as I've known him.
If you told him he's only voting Tory because he wants to be closer to 'whiteness' he would probably give you a good 'thappar'.
I love my uncle and so do his daughters, who are fairly left-wing. My point was to illustrate that some on the left have a very stereotypical view of Asians.

Among Asians, *I* am the outlier. Most British Asian are socially / fiscally right-wing, not raging socialists.

I'll write more on this issue later as I have no time rn...

But some of my fellow lefties don't pay any attention to the Asian press in this country to see what most British Asians think, and it shows.

I watched the Lib Dem debate this morning on Sky News, and I feel compelled to point out how RUBBISH its two competing leaders are.

If there was proper scrutiny of their plans and ideas, as there should be given the polling, they'd stand NO chance.

There are two candidates: Jo Swinson and Ed Davey. Both are competing to be as uncharismatic, technocratic and arrogant as possible.

Let's start with the obvious. What's their position on Brexit?

'Bollocks to Brexit' right?? Er, not so fast. They both want a Second Referendum.
They are bound to that position because they can't ignore the result of the EU Referendum, AND because both want to deny the Scots an #indyref2.

So, while they mutter 'we must respect the referendum result *cough*' - they can only advocate for another EU Ref (but not Scottish!)

What's worse than having a milkshake thrown at you?

- Being abused or harassed for your skin colour, religion or sex.

- Watching figures who incite hatred getting regularly invites on the media.

Way I see it, if you don't want to be milkshaked, don't incite hatred. Simple.
Our pleas to have a 'better public debate' have fallen on deaf ears even after Jo Cox was murdered in broad daylight.

We keep calling for civility, while people like Farage and Tommy Robinson keep escalating their rhetoric.

They're taking advantage of us. I'm sick of it.
This idea that things will 'get worse' because Farage got milkshaked is bonkers. Worse than an MP being murdered?

That rubicon has already been crossed, and Farage has faced *no* consequences for his violent rhetoric since then.

So why should we sit back and do nothing?

Looks like another contractor was caught with 1,000's of TOP SECRET/SAP level documents at home. Classifed & top secret info from a critical Air Force and Space Intelligence unit.

Bet you anything we'll find out in another year or two he sold it to China.
Dawson mentioned that the head of a Top Secret/SAP program was recently fired, so I'm wondering if it was Major General Dawn Dunlop, who was fired just a few weeks ago.

She was the Director of the Defense Department’s Special Access Programs Central Office, otherwise known as SAPCO, and also in the Air Force. Same military branch as the suspect and also involved with top secret/SAP data.

A Lost Place Found: A Thread.

About 5 years ago me and my girlfriend were in Paris. It was pouring with rain and we were looking for shelter.

We came across an alleyway leading to a courtyard, so we ducked in.

That's when we noticed there was a shop in the courtyard...
Oh man, it was wild. It was like a mix between a 2nd hand bookshop and a mad archivist's attic. There were theatre programmes from the 19th century. Gilt-edged invitations to parties that happened in the 1930s. Books, newspapers, photographs, stacked from floor to ceiling.
We spent a while in there. At one point I found an envelope of photos from a disposable camera. I looked through them and they were all candid shots of the Beatles. Mad.

Then we left. And 2 years later, we were in Paris again and we thought we'd go back, except-

It was gone.

Yoongi was promoted at work and that’s a good excuse to go out to celebrate. Though he does not understand why his friends want him to spend the next hours in a line just go get in a new nightclub that opened a month ago, he agrees.

Few weeks ago, I had an informal meeting with an Indian lady while waiting for a client. They came into the country to invest in a particular product and they stumbled on the plantain chips market while in traffic in Lagos.

They were shocked at the huge potential in the plantain chips market and they had to quickly shift their attention from the main product they were here to launch.
They began their research, drove round the city of Lagos, speaking to the sellers and buying samples of "chips"
From the little study, they estimated the amount consumed daily to be around 1m sachet during peak periods.

Early morning traffic hours, midday, rush hour traffic and late night on major roads.

For the last 24 hours I've been texting & calling with refugees in Libya. 500 are apparently stuck in a Tripoli prison w/o food & water after heavy fighting broke out two days ago. They say their guards ran away, leaving them alone.
These refugees are men, women & children. They tried to cross the Mediterranean earlier this year, but were found by Italian boats, who turned them over to the EU-backed Libyan coastguard, who put them in prison. The conditions were already terrible before the fighting started.
Oh the phone earlier I could hear children crying & what sounded like bombing in the distance. The refugees say everyone's incredibly frightened. "We hear machine guns, tanks, big bombs, last night from the roof it was all fire."

You Mark Curtis & the Corbyn cult are IMO dangerous idiots if you downplay this.
A Muslim Brotherhood salute is a Muslim Brotherhood salute - be it Egypt, Syria or Turkey. If a Westerner flashed this salute it shows either support for the MB and its vision - or UTTER STUPIDITY.
That Cameron's UK together with Obama's USA have made a pact with "political Islam" is a story that Syria has felt for 7 bloody years ... and if "commentators" of the Western "pro-Syria space" are now downplaying the MB - I feel vindicated for NEVER having supported them before.
To my mind such antics make Corbyn feel more and more dangerous for the Middle East. Like many of the Pseudo-Left (which is IMO what Labour is) that call themselves "pro-Palestine" but constantly stab the Resistance and Palestinians in the back by attacking Hezbollah and Syria.
