Joe Biden Wants to Take America Back to a Time Before Trump nyti.ms/2JMpe32 // Biden wants to appeal to Trump voters. That is the bottom line in the article. Trump has 90% approval among GOPers. Research shows that only about 10 to 20 percent of the Trump voters in 2016,
2/ meaning about 4 to 8 percentage points, were persuadable. The 2nd part is going back to a time before Trump, as if that is the golden age. But of what? Warmed over neoliberal bullshit? That was the ideology that left tens of millions of Americans, black, white, Latino, behind.
3/ Biden was VP when Obama chose Geithner & Wall Street over Main Street. Biden's campaigning on a "do-over"? What about the future? The younger generations? The Democratic coalition? Winning is expanding the Democratic electorate and getting them out to vote. Any persuadables
4/ that cannot vote for Trump, are welcome. But, a progressive policy agenda like Warren's has an agenda that crosses the white-black, young-old, male-female divides. It looks forward to massive structural changes to correct the defects of neoliberalism, racism, & sexism. Biden
5/ is wasting our time. You can just picture a 2020 campaign featuring Biden, Pelosi, & Schumer--three sleepwalkers trying to find the golden age way back when. Biden wants a do-over. Pelosi will try to explain why even though Trump is a tyrant-to-be she did nothing, & Schumer
6/ will do little to get rid of Mitch McConnell. The DNC has done nothing to make McConnell into the face of the GOP's assault on America and the American people.
