been thinking a lot about how people raise their kids and just heard an interesting story. parents have this kid. she doesnt want to go to kindergarten + freaks out when they try and take her there. therapist says to put her in daycare slowly, first one day a week, then two, etc
they literally put this five year old kid in therapy. so someones telling me this story and im just thinking... dude, shes five. maybe she doesnt want to go to some weird place with all these people she doesnt know. is that so weird?
the person telling me this story is pitching it like “haha yeah she loves her dad and doesnt want to go away from him and he loves her so much but hes gonna have to let her go right”, and it just struck me as kind of sick, this little 5 year old girl seeing a therapist [...]
because she’d rather be with her mom and dad than go to some kindergarten and she feels strongly enough to cry about it? the therapist even said the dad cant drive her there and wants to make her take the bus... bruh momentum
extremely open to anyone with kids giving me some pushback if im wrong for imagining that if i was this dad i would just not do that. my current child rearing plan is documented in that movie the village where they just live like its hundreds of years ago (never seen it though)
