It's Percy Bysshe Shelley's birthday. You read about his shenanigans and they're far OUT, man. Mark Twain felt so outraged by a Shelley bio in his day he wrote an entire piece defending poor Harriet Shelley who was blamed for everything. Post on my site: sheilaomalley.com/?p=39450
I knew Stan from MAD MEN was my long lost husband when he said "You better read the whole poem" to Ginsberg, who quoted "look on my mighty works," and etc. from Ozymandias, completely missing the meaning that it's an inscription on a RUIN, the civilization is DEAD.
On 9/14/01 I was unloading stuff at the Salvation Army on 14th st., wearing a mask, w/an Irishman I had just met (and made out with - it was a stressful day) -and there was a banner quoting that Ozymandias inscription and I said to my Irishman, "yeah, but the rest of it... Hm."

A propos of nothing - when people describe something as "over the top" - my initial response is usually something along the lines of 1. "wow, I grew up with insanely flamboyant people, looks like" and 2. "you need to get out more." Humorous anecdote:
Not a huge Melissa Leo fan, but I remember there being a lot of "she was so over the top in The Fighter." Maybe in YOUR world, but all you need to do is go hang out at a bar in Cranston, RI, or North Providence, RI, and she will be everywhere. Not over the top at all.
I say this as a born-and-raised Rhode Islander. I mentioned this comment to my friend Maria, child of Italian immigrants from Providence, and she laughed uproariously. 'That woman is my mother in law." I know her mother in law. She speaks the truth.

@FurbySquawk You would be surprised at how many conservatives online actually believe Liberalism(an ideology) is a mental illness. Well, guys, I'm sorry but ideology isn't a mental illness, they have nothing in common. Not to mention, its not even a real agruement, its a non-point.
@FurbySquawk It's a non-point meant to derail or stop the conversation, and it's an ad hominem since it assumes that if all of their opponents are liberals they must be inherently mental ill.
@FurbySquawk It's also insulting to mentally ill people, when you say that, because ur trivializing and mocking it for the sake of "sticking it to the libs".

Dulce Rivera, the woman above, is transgender, & was falsely accused of harassing other inmates before she was 1st confined. She lost the will to live, attempted suicide, but then she was KEPT confined, except w/further restrictions.
