These are launch and reentry suits from SpaceX. They will only protect an astronaut inside a spaceship.

They are super-cool, but don't confuse them with an EMU (Extravehicular Mobility Unite) which is what gets used on a spacewalk.
In one of the photos, you can see a port on the astronaut's right thigh, just above the knee. That's where all the life support enters.

In an EMU they have a full PLSS (portable life support system) in a backpack. That's part of why those weigh 300lbs.
The SpaceX suits are not rated for the temperature extremes outside the craft, which can range from -250F to 250F.

They are designed to keep the astronauts safe in case of depressurization, while allowing them the dexterity to operate the spacecraft.
Also, they are white so that in Battle School, you can tell which soldier has been shot as you move toward the enemy gate, which is down--
