Look... if the person you're talking about isn't dead, saying "they're a product of their time" as an excuse is just enabling hate and fear.

My parents are Southern and were born in the Great Depression and yet they still figured out how to use pronouns.
Heck, I'm fifty years old and pronouns ARE NOT THAT HARD.

I used to have to navigate without GPS for crying out loud. My phone had a rotary dial and was wired to a wall.

Understanding non-binary is significantly easier than trying to meet up with a friend before cellphones.
