Three biggest takeaways from someone that's been arms length from politics my whole life and is registered Independent.
1) Media is absolute shit and mostly far left propaganda
2) Moderate Republicans are really disguised leftists and serve no real function. Looking at you Karl Rove, Dana Perino, Joe Walsh, Paul Ryan, Lisa Murkowski, McCain family, etc.
3) The common American not paying attention will never understand what is going on and that is a disservice to this Country.

I wasn't inclined to tweet about #Kashmir, but after seeing the amount of disinformation, I am going to.

I'm back in the newsroom today after a week in Srinagar.

Things are NOT normal.

People are seething. Kashmir is likely a tinderbox waiting for a spark.
When I got there on Monday, just hours after Article 370 was abrogated, the city was locked down.

I walked a km to find the nicest auto-wallah in the land.

He didn't have a clue of what had happened, why his city had overnight turned into ghost town -- blanketed with security.
Later that evening, we spoke to @shahfaesal in his living room.

Since satellite TVs were still working, news had trickled in.

“We might see an eruption when the guard is down."

“People are taking it as an act of humiliation.”

Then, the pelting began.

There is a long-standing American conspiracy to dehumanize and mistreat people who've been arrested. (Black Americans suffer even worse during an arrest, e.g., #EricGarner, #PhilandoCastile, #TerenceCrutcher, etc.)
I won't shed any tears for Epstein, but I will for #SandraBland, who was wrongly arrested, mistreated during the arrest, and then killed herself in jail. She wasn't even on suicide watch, even though she told police she was depressed and had attempted suicide before.
