It happened in the first two weeks in the @NFL last season, and it happened again today. A game ended in a tie, this time between the @Lions & @AZCardinals. The current OT rules, allowing a team to allow a first-drive FG and have a chance to reply, has contributed to more ties.
@NFL @Lions @AZCardinals And for those who don't like the idea of tie games in the @NFL, remember that the very first regular season OT game ever played, between the @steelers and @Broncos in Mile High Stadium in 1974, ended in a 35-35 tie. And yes, the way the NFL does it is better than in college.
@NFL @Lions @AZCardinals @steelers @Broncos The reason why the way the NFL does OT is better than they way it's done in college comes down to one thing. It's real football, beginning with the kickoff. The way it's done in college is basically like penalty kicks in soccer (like the World Cup), which is farcical.
