Vikram Lander appears intact but tilted, says @ISRO, efforts continue to establish contact. (Question now is whether blackout is due to system damage or orientation — or both). #ISROSpotsVikram
Sources at @ISRO who share the above information also point out that orbiter visual of the Vikram Lander isn’t enough to establish internal structural integrity, only superficial. High velocity landing likely to have damaged systems. But effort still on to see if he’ll ‘wake up’.
Don’t think anyone should get their hopes up. The chances of reviving/re-establishing communications with the Vikram Lander are very remote according to nearly all experts, and even with the @ISRO. But that’s the thing about space — you do everything you can, and then hope. 🌓🇮🇳
Also note, there’s NO OFFICIAL word from @ISRO yet on the structural integrity of the Vikram lander. All they have officially said so far is that the lander has been imaged by the orbiter. Nothing official yet on damage/orientation etc.
