@LeoBeletsky and many collaborators found 4 key themes that warrant investigation. 1st: Metrics of "success" have not been adequately defined. Despite rapid implementation, evidence on whether PDMPs reduce overdose deaths and prevent Rx misuse are mixed. annals.org/aim/article-ab…

The 3rd major theme: PDMP access can impact several vulnerable populations, including pain patients, LGBTQ, people with SUD, and folks who are on maintenance treatments. Whether people are on methadone or hormone therapy, this information is highly sensitive and must be protected
