So.

the same judge that ruled against releasing the files in the Giuffre v Maxwell case also found Epstein's partner liable for the entire amount ponzi scheme.

He wondered why Hoffenberg didn't implicate Epstein, but didn't force the issue at the time.

It just strikes me as interesting that the SEC investigation was initiated in 1992, while Bush I was in office - and Barr was Attorney General (aka Coverup General).

True, he wasn't in charge of the SEC, but I can't help but think he had a bit of influence with key players.

So, weird story I just ran across:
Trump advisor Howard Lorber's nephew has been convicted of possession of child pornography.

He was represented by Marc Kasowitz's firm.

There are lots of redactions. About his past, and his family.

So, re: the redactions: They're a problem.

While I sympathize with anyone who was a victim of sexual assault, etc., redactions are antithetical to the concept of justice.

What happens to victims is not their fault - it's the fault of those preying on them.
Masking the depravity behind a redaction serves no one's interests, and only reduces the risk to child predators.

Hiding descriptions of the acts means it is more likely that they - and others - will be able to continue preying on children.

Here is one collection of links to the documents (I don't know if it this will be complete when you see it). This is already a lot. Just one of the documents, "Exhibits 1 through 51," is 883 pages.

Remember how Jerome Corsi filed a civil lawsuit against Robert Mueller, claiming various violations of his rights? A judge today denied Corsi's bid to have the case assigned to the same judge who ruled against the NSA bulk surveillance program a few years ago, Judge Richard Leon
Corsi is represented by Larry Klayman, who argued the NSA case before Leon. Normally cases are randomly assigned, unless they're related to another case. Klayman today argued the cases were related, since Corsi claims he's been illegally surveiled by the special counsel's office
But "related" has specific meanings under the court rules. For cases that have been dismissed at the district court level, as Klayman's NSA cases were (he's on appeal), Corsi's case would need to involve the same parties and subject to be "related"

The case may have broad implications for LGBT rights in schools and workplaces. There’s been speculation Trump admin may seek to redefine "sex" in civil rights law based on birth characteristics, ignoring trans people. That could happen as part of this case and/or related rule.
Texas and other plaintiffs had asked judge for a status hearing to advance the case (the administration didn’t oppose the motion), saying a forthcoming HHS regulation could take years. Here’s their motion:

1 - This is a summary of the DACA order today that came down from Judge Hanen in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Judge Hanen was the same judge who ruled against the DAPA program in 2016.
2 - It’s pretty clear that the judge largely bought the plaintiffs overall arguments regarding the legality of DACA. And he suggested they would likely win at trial in his courtroom. But they didn’t meet the test for a preliminary injunction.
3- This is critical because it now means DACA will likely remain in place until the Supreme Court ultimately decides the issue. That could be another year or more away. Here’s the link to the case - scribd.com/document/38749…
