I frequently hear people say there are no heroes today. No one will standup & speak out against a criminal, unfit president. Men like GEN Mattis & GEN Kelly won’t. Instead, they join a corp. that profits from the confinement of migrant children. But wait-remember Tricia Newbold?
2. Ms. Newbold is a White House Personnel Security Specialist. She’s worked in the White House since 2000. When she saw Trump granting unwarranted security clearances to his family members and others, you know what she did? SHE SPOKE OUT! And she did not do it anonymously.
3. She attached her name to it. Ms. Newbold shows us that there are still people who are willing to speak out with integrity, blow whistles on government corruption, expose the president’s abuses. So yes, there are still heroes out there. And one more thing -
4. Though we didn’t need Ms. Newbold’s heroism to drive home this point, it does reinforce the fact that . . . it’s about damn time we had a woman as president.
