Add to this the fact that the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee had offered to fly over to her town to speak with her if she preferred. Apparently, her lawyer decided not to inform Dr. Ford of the offer. The whole damn thing was a scripted charade.

The correction that recants the whole story as a vicious farce is no lifeline. It is a vindication that NY Times is rotten to the core.

A lawyer for Bob Baffert, who trained the 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify, said environmental contamination, not doping, was the cause of the racehorse’s failed drug test.

Scopolamine can occur naturally in jimson weed, which occasionally has been found in horse feed or bedding materials.

The quantity of the drug found in Justify suggested it was not the result of feed or bedding contamination and was intended to enhance performance.
Corruption In California

NY Times reports that California Horse Racing Board apparently did not follow its own procedures and ultimately closed the investigation without ever disclosing the positive drug test result to the public.

Department of Housing and Urban Development investigators found no evidence that Secretary Ben Carson acted improperly when he tried to buy a $31,000 dining room set for his office in 2017, according to an inspector general’s report released on Thursday.

Mr. Carson, who was a pediatric neurosurgeon and author before entering politics, went on to complain that the investigation “cost me personally about $60,000” in legal fees. Mr. Carson also said that the department had spent “over $700,000” on the investigation.
If you ask me, Mr. Carson's real crime might have been being a Republican while Black. Democratic opponents and the liberal media have been hounding him ever since President Trump appointed him as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Now, such a clause would prohibit the President from granting or withholding an office based on racial identity, and, in like vein, would prohibit the Senate from withholding consent to a nomination, or granting it, on the basis of racial identity.
