Judge Dabney Friedrich just wrapped up a 90-minute status hearing in the Concord case. “We’re now on a trial track,” she said, citing tentative plans for an April 6 start in the Mueller case against the Russian troll farms.
She expressed frustration at more potential delays. “If I left it up to you I’d be trying the case in 2021,” the judge said.
Concord’s attorney said he planned to soon file another motion to dismiss the case originally brought by special counsel Mueller. The judge said she wanted all such motions dealt with by end of the year.
Judge Friedrich also said she planned to re-examine her original ruling rejecting Concord’s motion to dismiss, but the issue is over her interpretation of the original Mueller indictment.
Concord’s attorney also said he’s traveling to Russia in the next couple of weeks to finally meet with his client, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a wealthy businessman known as Putin's chef who is one of the 13 people DOJ charged in the case.
