You aren’t making your kids « quiet » by giving them electronics, you are merely replacing their healthy physical expression with mental agitation, and their healthy need to explore the real-world with virtual entrapment.
You’re gonna say: “but it’s not all bad.”

You’re implying that some of it is.

Why do you think it’s acceptable for your kids to deal with - mostly - negative side effects so they may get some positive?
How many equivalent to such stance would sound equally irrelevant?

It’s just like saying you’re cool with your kids watching TV shows and commercials all day because some program may have some kind of educational value.
It’s just like saying you’re cool with feeding your kids junk food as long as there’s some kind of supplements in it.
It’s just like saying you’re cool with keeping your kids all day indoors in artificial environments and deprived from nature as long as there’s green plants in your home.
It’s just like saying you’re cool with your kids sitting all day as long as you take them to the playground for a mere hour on weekends.
Is that the mindset you’ve been applying to your own life?
The “it’s not all bad” mantra?

That’s exactly how one ruins any possibility of improvement, by looking at the mediocre benefits while ignoring the bulk of detrimental effects.
It’s a very adverse form of compromising.
Your kids only have the options you’ve chosen for yourself and for them. They don’t have a choice, but you do. So consider this:

Normalcy is not your friend.

Normalcy is a silent killer.

QUESTION IT.

Get past it and live well and free.
