'I thought they were.'
Nah.
-Feelings are physical sensations in your body.
-Emotions are your interpretations of feelings.
If you can't tell the difference, then you will be susceptible to impulsivity.
Most of your life's problems are stemmed from not being able to tell the difference between emotions & feelings.
You let feelings dictate your narrative.
Big mistake...
'Why is emotional intelligence so important?'
A few reasons include:
-Peace of mind
-Better relationships
-Enhanced production.
-Feelings are physical.
-Emotions are mental.
Emotions aren't reality.
Feelings are.
But ultimately, they see reality for what it is.
And that's why they aren't as impulsive as their emotionally unintelligent peer.
Say someone curses you out.
Your emotions will be very negative.
Your ego will paint a narrative with your emotions.
How you move next is up to you.
Right: Be emotionally angry -> accept it -> bring focus back to body -> acknowledge neutral feelings -> respond.
It's okay to be emotionally angry, sad, anxious etc.
But ultimately, move your focus from your ego's reality to actual reality.
And your feelings will always be your compass back to the present.
Because of conditioning.
'Huh?'
Yep, we were never taught how to leverage our feelings.
We glorify the IQ exam, GPA, tests etc.
And this results in us staying in our head, mentally processing too much.
And remember, how I said emotions were a mental game.
Therefore, we are unsure of what feelings are
This is why when we feel strange feelings in our body, many of us go into panic mode.
And panic mode happens when we move with our heads too much.
They taught us what they felt was best.
But in the real world, you need to be able to understand your body & read your feelings.
Otherwise, you'll be an impulsive little shit.
It's a very liberating feeling.
And when you get that power back, you can use your emotions to produce, rather than shut down.
Start calling 'emotions' -> 'energy'
Energy has a more neutral vibe to it than emotions.
This gets your mind placing more focus on your body rather than overanalyzing in your head.
Lifechanging.
Surprisingly, the best time to tell is during darkness.
Next time someone cuts you off in traffic, go from angry, to focusing on your body
That's a rep for your internal world
Each rep builds on eachother
-Emotions come & go.
-But the consequences may come & stay.
So move with intelligence.
