Did you know if a foreign diplomat driving a 2019 Mustang hits you in a fender bender in a downtown D.C. intersection, the bemused officer who responds will hold back a smile while apologetically explaining the Secret Service has to come take an official report?

So, that’s fun.

Everyone is fine. There is slight damage to both cars and the gentleman’s ego.

I was supposed to see an advance screening of “Judy” at 7pm. That is not happening. This is officially an attack on the queer community. 😭

This diplomat chided me for moving the car out of the intersection, and I gently told him that protocol is to get out of traffic to a safe spot. He disagreed.

Secret Service takes a report, and the diplomat is all: “Well, naturally, we moved the cars to a safe spot...”

😂😂😂

The diplomat wants to litigate his way out of clipping me, and the Secret Service officer is basically all: Bruh, I’m not about that life. Just give me your info, and talk to your insurance company. 😂😂😂

Him: “It’s a brand new car! I just got it” and continues ranting.

Me: “Yeah, it’s a gorgeous car. Sad.”

He didn’t have his insurance info handy. Or his registration.

That was a whole thing.

He keeps wanting me to say “you’re right” to his claim that I defied the laws of physics and hit him from behind me.

And I keep saying: “I’ll just let the insurance companies handle it” in response.

I did this five times very calmly before he got frustrated and stopped.

Secret Service officer was super professional.

The diplomat misgendered me a few times after an initial gentle correction, and I just let it go because pick your battles at that point.

But the officer was quite intentional about saying she/her and “ma’am”.

Anyway, fun experience! I’m sure it’ll make a decent essay someday.
