Last 6 months, alone:

-- banned trans people from the military against the expert advice of medical and legal authorities and budget analysts
-- proposed federal reg to allow medical providers to deny care to LGBTQ people
-- proposed reg to turn away trans people from shelters
And @JoshDavidArnold, that's just three off the top of my head. That's not including Trump's support of employers who wish to fire employees for being LGBTQ. You need to step back and take a seat.

Did you know if a foreign diplomat driving a 2019 Mustang hits you in a fender bender in a downtown D.C. intersection, the bemused officer who responds will hold back a smile while apologetically explaining the Secret Service has to come take an official report?

So, that’s fun.
Everyone is fine. There is slight damage to both cars and the gentleman’s ego.
I was supposed to see an advance screening of “Judy” at 7pm. That is not happening. This is officially an attack on the queer community. 😭

I've gotten a lot of messages today from folks saying they've felt like they weren't "bisexual/queer/trans" enough, so let's be clear:

You identifying as bisexual is "bisexual enough".

You identifying as queer is "queer enough".

You identifying as trans is "trans enough".
Being LGBTQ has no prescribed characteristics beyond identifying as LGBTQ.

You are more than queer enough in your authenticity, and you should never try to be a half-assed carbon copy of someone else. Be you.
I mean, y'all... a Black queer man is the hottest country artist on the planet. It's 2019. Be yourself and everything else is fucking noise.

People wonder why I'd want to appear--especially appear naked--on an unscripted documentary series (aka "Reality TV"), when #trans people have had so many negative experiences in the media, our stories given shallow treatments and exploited for dramatic effect. 1/?
But if I'm honest, I wasn't drawn to appearing on @NakedAndAfraid despite the nudity requirement--it was an alluring feature.

I felt, as a trans guy, that stripping down would be a relief, a way to get it over with & just finally say the unsayable, widely and publicly.
So often our bodies are under scrutiny, spoken or unspoken -- whether at work, at the doctor's office, around the family of a love interest, etc.

People seem to think your junk is their business. But always on their terms.

Does your program provide housing? How is it broken up? Chances are it’s by legal sex. Are you putting this information where applicants can see it? Would trans applicants be able to room with their actual gender, not just the one on paper? Could they room alone? 2/n
Rooming alone isn’t always ideal from both standpoints (to school, more money, to students, isolation), but it might be the preferred option depending on school rules and the “oh jeez, will my assigned roommate hate trans people & be potentially hostile to me for 8-10 weeks.” 3/n

MONSTER THREAD: US President Donald Trump’s transgender military ban went into force at the start of this month. It is predicated on a number of false premises, but chiefly: that trans servicepeople are a burden to the US military; and that trans identities are illegitimate. 1/
I’d like to deal with both of these propositions, as well as why this development should be alarming for anyone — even those who have taken a more ambivalent stance because they don’t support what Eisenhower once called the ‘military-industrial complex.’ 2/
First, to the idea of a burden. I’m not going to deal too much with the actual costs, though Trump has made much of the fact that trans people are ‘too expensive’ for the Pentagon. This he even claimed in his first tweets proposing the ban. 3/
